Known lovingly as “Wy-Guy,” “Pie,” and “Wy-Wy,” Wyatt’s passing on December 30th has left his family and friends facing an unimaginable depth of pain. Though his time on this earth was far too short, the love, joy, and light he shared will live on forever.
Wyatt was a bright and joyful little boy whose presence brought smiles and laughter to everyone around him. His sweet smile, endless curiosity, and gentle spirit made him instantly lovable. He found happiness in the simple things—reading his favorite books, playing with cars, and spending time with his loyal German Shepherd, Ricky B. Wyatt’s playful imagination and infectious enthusiasm filled his home with warmth, and his parents, Dylan Irvin and Madeleine Drake-Metzger, treasured every moment they shared with their precious son.
One of Wyatt’s greatest joys was being a big brother to Everett. He wore that role with pride, showering his baby brother with love and attention. His tender heart and caring nature shone through in the way he embraced his new responsibility, and the bond he shared with his family was deep and unbreakable. Though their world has been forever changed, the memories of Wyatt’s laughter and love will remain close to their hearts.
The family had been eagerly preparing to celebrate Wyatt’s upcoming February 10th birthday with his preschool classmates. Instead of planning a joyful celebration, they are now facing the devastating reality of laying their beloved child to rest. Alongside their grief, they are also burdened with unexpected financial challenges that come with such a sudden loss.
At just 22 and 20 years old, Wyatt’s parents were unprepared for the emotional and financial weight of this tragedy.
